Since we were just by the Finger Lakes for the Pageant we decided to hang out there for a week and camp. We go there Sunday Afternoon. We set up camp had foil dinners and had these for our dessert.
YUMMY!
We had so much fun making them. Remember back a year ago with Mason's Nutella Art? Well here he is again at it, but this time much cleaner.
Oh Dear! I don't know what to think about this face. All I remember is asking him to say CHEESE!
We camped right next to the playground so before bed, during clean-up the kids played. I gave them each glow in the dark necklaces so I could always make sure I could see them easily.
We also played games with our glow sticks back at camp. Where they would throw the glow sticks and make a ringer on the paper roll. The kids had a lot of fun doing it.
Here's dad playing in the tent with the glow sticks.
Foil Dinners Breakfast. I loved these ones. Tator-tots, scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese and gravy.
YUMMY!
Now on to hiking and much more fun....
First we headed to one of my favorite falls Taughannock Falls.
After the upper view areas we headed to the lower view and hiked up to the falls.
We had so much fun
The girls found this spot that they would slide down small falls. They all had bruises and scraps on their hips the next day and asked me how they got them. I WONDER!
Last time we only made it half way. We were determined to do all of it this time, but not yet. We made it half way until.....
Until Mason slipped right here. He hit the back of his head and all you could see was blood rushing down the river.

Before we left I kept nagging Jon to bring home a stitch kit just in case something happened while we were there. The nearest hospital was a half hour away but a nurse we talked to later told us it was a good thing we didn't go there cause it's not very good. She said the best one would be an hour away, so I'm glad we just decided to find a very private area and I became Jon's nurse holding this little boy down. The nice thing about being our kids parents and doctor is we really made sure this kid was completely numb before trying to sew him up. Here's Mason waiting to get stitches. He's so sad. I almost fainted a million times. It was the deepest cut I have ever seen and there was so much blood and it stunk really bad. {I'm very sensitive to smells as it is}. Jon had to give Mason a deep stitch before he could even begin the other stitches. This seemed more like surgery then stitches there's no way I could be cut out to be a doctor. IN the end Jon did another fantastic job and after it all I'm not sure I could of trusting anyone else giving him his stitches. I was very grateful this day that Jon is a Surgeon.

So after all that craziness that took an hour of our day. Across the street we went swimming for a bit in the lake. Mason fell asleep he was so tired from his morning. So I stayed with him and watched him sleep of his exhaustion.
After Mason woke up he was so happy and ready to continue the fun so we went back to hike but this time didn't walk on the river path :-). I could only handle so much in a day.
We stayed on the path. We all knew there was a rainstorm coming in so we had already had swimsuits on but grabbed our umbrellas and decided to enjoy our hike in the rain. At first the rain hadn't started and then it poured and before long we had the trail to ourself. A few others groups joined us as well.
WHAT AN AWESOME HIKE!!!
GREAT DAY!
-minus Mason's fall
