An early post back in December I wrote about choosing a place to live based on how pretty the closest bridge was. I will say we will not be going to any of the bridges I showed early instead we will be moving near this bridge . . .

More Specifically . .

Long Island, NY

From Jon's Hospital it takes 1 hour to get to Manhattan.

Jon's Hospital is on a Pennisula on the Long Island imagine looking out of the window and seeing the beach.

Okay let's get to the real story. Before Jon started medical school I told him I don't care what kind of doctor you are as long as you are not a surgeon. I don't want to be a surgeons wife. Later down the road probably a year ago I told Jon I don't care where we live as long as we don't live in NY.

Well I'm totally getting everything I didn't want.

A husband who's becoming a surgeon and moving to NY.

His plans are to become a surgical oncologist.

Jon starts work July 1st. He has orientation a week before that. Our plans are moving out there the first week of June go swimming on the beach and seeing NYC for the first time.

WE CAN'T WAIT!

HERE'S HOW WE CELEBRATED!

The day we found out Jon and I headed down to the strip to NEW YORK, NEW YORK Hotel. Plans were to ride the roller coaster but that night there were high winds to 36 mph, so unfortunelty it was closed, so we ate dinner at Nathans. We ordered each a yummy HOT DOG with chili cheese fries afterwards we enjoyed playing video games at "Coney Island" Coney Island is 20 minutes from Jon's Hospital.

{Amy's Visit From Vancouver}

A couple weeks ago we were able to have Jon's sister Amy come out and play with us from Vancouver. Amy always spoils my children with love and gifts. This time she brought the official olympic mascots stuff animals and key chains for each of my girls. I love that they walk around with them and Alix has her key chain on her school back pack. She is always coming home with stories about how everything thinks it's soooo cool!

While she was here we watch the amazing "Alice & Wonderland" in 3D XD at the SouthPoint. It was really cool. I was a bit nervous for my kids to watch it, but we did. Addison was holding on to me and Alix was holding onto Amy the whole time. AFterwards Addison did the dance that the Mad Hatter does at the end and says " I loved that Movie." Everyday she talks about it and asks me if I could buy it for her : ). I thought parts would give my kids nightmares, but they have been just fine and still claim it's their favorite movie. So in my opinion I wouldn't recommend it to small children (unless you have a child like Addison who is obsessed over bad guys), but I wouldn't oppose to it either. As for Adults- it's totally cute and very beautiful to watch.


Another thing we did was walk around the Hoover Dam because Amy hadn't seen it and I was curious about the bridge. It's so amazing how large it is. They are moving so fast on it too.

Speaking of bridges. We found out what bridge we are moving next to : ). I'm not tell you in this post but I will promise to tell you on my next post!!!! (okay I think everyone who reads this blog already knows where I am going, so I'm only torturing the out of staters. (is that a word))

I took Amy shopping at Town Square and we got there a bit early so I took this picture of Emberlynn. Amy also bought this outfit for her too and bought darling legg'ns for it later on that day too. I have adjusted very well to the weather out here. I really get to enjoy Spring where everywhere else I have lived it's still snowing. One thing I will miss when we are gone. (oh I gave you a hint it's not in Las Vegas)

{Puppy Love}

One day while folding laundry Emberlynn came in and saw this puppy and totally thought is was real. I was being quite mean and teased her with it, but I thought it was quite amusing (I know shame on me).

{GIVE A DAY, GET A DAY}

Our family living so close to Disneyland decided to take advantage of the Disney's Promotion, Give a Day, Get a Day! We signed up to make blankets, so we made three blankets, Emberlynn was free and we only had to pay for Addison (rats and she only turned three- three months ago) We ended up upgraded our tickets with a California Resident and got the second day for only $25.00 a person. WHAT A DEAL!

This is our last trip to Disneyland for a very long time. We love Disneyland like everyone else. We were so excited to go with my other two sisters Danell & Casandra.

This year for the Annual Girls Day Camp the theme was "Olympics" tide in with the Scripture in Joshua 1:9 BE OF GOOD COURAGE, doubt not fear not.

The Stake had 4 classes and our Ward was in charge of one of them (Developing Talents) Anyway because I wasn't going to be able to attend the actual camp I volunteered to do the handouts. (Well I got lucky and Kristy helped finished them with me) We made 80 handouts total. It's a wooden star we bought at Michael's and stuck a pin on the back of it and hung the quote from below with ribbon.

Anyway I have always loved this quote and I was really excited to use it. I think at times we think we can't do something or try something new unless we are instantly the best at it or just mediocrity at it. We should never think that way. Heck if I thought that I would be nothing right now, cause I am not perfect at anything. Some of my talents I have I am only so-so at and the ones that I think I am really good at I can still name tons of people out there who are better then me at it.

As for the so-so talents I continue them cause I merely enjoy doing them and every once in a while I can get something perfect (well in my eyes that is) and it satisfies myself that I continued doing something that I was only so-so at.

“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them” (Ether 12:27).

So I hope all of you out there who wants to try something new but afraid of failing, or the person who is feeling a never ending progress of developing a new talent.
