Alix's First Day of School

Alix's first day of school was yesterday. The day was AWESOME. Alix was informed the night before that the Magic School Bus comes early in the morning before kids are awake and drop off a gift. So immediately when Alix woke up she ran downstairs like Christmas day and swung open the door and found a gift outside the door. She was so excited!

Inside was her first day of school outfit and some extra school supplies.

There were also Apple Chocolate covered cake PoP's (there is a story behind why they are green apples rather then red.)

Here's the bag with a note from the Magic School bus!

Jon and I then made a "Butterfly Breakfast" for the girls.

Alix's first pose with her new outfit.
This year came way to fast.

Here we are at the school. She is getting excited and I am too. I thought I was going to baul like a baby, but that happened the night before. This day however I started to cry as I was piling the kids out of the car, but as we got closer and closer to the classroom I couldn't but help get so excited for her. Alix of course was really excited!

While we were waiting to go inside the PTA was handing out tissues with this poem attached to them.

The first day of Kindergarten is finally here.
A day which some have come to fear.
We're off to a good start,
Our little ones will soon be so smart.
Look at them run off to their line,
No need to worry it will all be fine.
So dry your tear,
It's going to be a great year.

Here is Alix's desk above her table there are cows hanging down. They are the "COW" table. So here is a BIG MOOOOOOOO to you Alix for good luck!

Here is Alix's school teacher. She is a doll. Her name is MRS. BARLOW. I know here on a personally level. She is in the Stake YW's Presidency. It was funny cause she came over with her mother to buy some Bumble watches from me and she was talking about how she is a Kindergarten teacher a school. I then hit me that she is Mrs. Barlow the teacher I just signed up for Alix. I totally screamed and smiled as I went to bed that night. I was so relieved that we would know someone there at school. Cause the majority of the new kindergarden kids at church go to another elementary school. However on the day of the Open HOuse we found out that once boy Maddox is in her class and they sit on the same table. It will be nice cause his mom and I will be carpooling back in forth since it's over 2 miles to school and they don't offer a school bus for the pick-up.

I can't wait to have some one on one time with this little one while Alix is at school and Emberlynn is napping! This time is much needed with her!

I needed to rethink this chocolate doughnut. After we dropped Alix off. They had a BOO HOO breakfast for the kindergardeners. I was hoping to find some people someone I knew to trade baby-sitting so I can volunteer at the school. No luck YET! I am determined. Anyway Addison really wanted this chocolate doughnut and as you can see I really didn't think things through and here is what happens when I don't. What a mess she was. Then she wanted a bites of my Jalapeno Bagel, but would throw the jalapenos off and you can only guess who grabbed one and ate it. You're Right Emberlynn. I really should be fired for being a mom. I'll tell you Addison gave her a Chocolate covered cake POP last night too, a meatball on Sunday, and a chicken ravioli and chocolate milk on Friday. THAT'S IT ---- IM FIRED!

Anyway Alix had a

WONDERFUL FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL . . . . .

THEN . . . .

. . . right before we got ready for bed Alix puked everywhere and had uncontrollable diarrhea. We were both up again at midnight. She is feeling much better this morning and taking things easy. She is not going to school today. Poor girl!

Get a kid all excited about school to tell her she can't go the next day literally broke her little heart.

Home Depot Project

At the beginning of the month I took the girls to Home Depot to do their Free Craft. The girls had so much fun and some how I was able to help them and manage three kids at the same time :) The girls loved hammering and I was really impressed on both of them doing so well with the project. I didn't however have enough guts to paint them there so we did it at home. Alix asked if she could put vinyl on them too and of course I said, "yes." I let both girls choose there own fonts and sizes it just had to fit in the space. They were very proud so I had to take a picture and of course this was worthy to post.

Good Job Girls!

SOUTH AFRICAN RUGBY FANS

This Jersey is a South African Springbok Rugby Jersey. It was Worn by two different Professional Rugby Players. One by a Pro SA and the other a Pro USA player and it's sitting on my countertop at home.

The other day Jon went to Rugby practice & he noticed his friend Vaha who is on the USA Rugby Team wearing this Jersey. Anyway when Vaha was playing in the Rugby World Cup against South Africa at the end of the game one of the South African Players took off his Practice Jersey & gave it to Vaha. Vaha knowing that Jon is from South African & a HUGE rugby fan would go crazy for something like that. So Seva, Vaha's wife told me about it but told me not to tell Jon, so I didn't and finally after months and months later Vaha wore it to practice & of course Jon makes a comment about it and Vaha just laughs. Then after practice Vaha throw the jersey to Jon. Jon was way confused and felt bad that he made him give him the jersey. What he didn't know is Vaha wore it that night so he could give to Jon.

Any way I am just as excited about this Jersey as Jon is. Because years ago I surprised him a jersey and he loved it so much.

Thank you Vaha!

And to all YOU SOUTH AFRICAN RUGBY FANS . . .

Daddy Dell, Brendan, Bennie, Nathan, Jared, Kevin & Trevor

Try not to be jealous we'll let you touch it!!!!!

Emberlynn's First Step :)

Well like I said on an earlier post Emberlynn is taking her first steps. I should probably be filming her more, now that she has more confidence and taking her steps and not falling over every time she takes a step. Addison last week went to her 9 mo Check-up and she is doing great.
She is very active

Loves to Dance (Seriously it's the cutest thing ever)

Loves to move around in her walker

Scrunches her nose up all the time especially when she is happy

Eats everything she can get her hands on.

Gets upset if you take away something she really shouldn't be eating

Sleeps through the night. (she has always slept really good for me but I believe she was on a growth spurt and needed some extra calories between 7 1/2-9 months So she would wake up in the middle of the night at 11 pm & 1 am. She is now sleeping from 7:30am-7am (or until Addison goes in there to wake her up) Knock on wood.

POST COMING . . EMBERLYNN'S FIRST STEP

Last Monday July 27th Emberlynn took her first step, well it actually was three steps. I was folding laundry in my bedroom and she crawled over to me, stood up and walked. I ran downstairs to get the camera, but only got two steps with the last step falling down.

I can't believe is starting to walk. She loves cruising all over the house. It makes me so sad that by baby girl is growing up so fast. It makes me think, should I have another one? :) Well I think I will be waiting a bit longer that's for sure for number 4. I will admit 3 kids is definitely giving me a workout.

I have no idea how my mom did 6 kids. WOW- she was awesome. I remember growing up with my mom, especially in high school. I would walk downstairs to see my mom just because I knew she would tell me I looked beautiful. She would even say I looked beautiful when I had a ZIT on my nose the size of a pea. No matter how she said it, what I was wearing (well as long as it was modest) if I had make-up on or non at all, I believed her. I really did. That comment in the morning gave me the confidence to walk out my door feeling good about myself and knowing that my mother loved me.

It's funny cause I feel like I seek that same approval from my husband; however, it's not always the same, cause Jon tells me a little premature, which is fine. Let me explain, Jon tells me I look gorgeous when my hair is half way teased, sopping wet from the shower, no make-up but hair done, vice versa, dressed halfway, the best is when I got out of the shower & I am looking for an outfit to wear. Gorgeous is the word he uses to describe me. What a funny boy. The part I give him a hard time is when I am 100% finished, and all dolled up. He doesn't say anything, (well I should say 90% off the time) and I will ask him, Don't I look cute today? and he will say "YES" I already told you that.

He always says I don't need all the make-up, fancy clothes, & stylish hair to be Gorgeous. Either he is the best husband EVER or he is trying to get himself out of trouble, either way. I love him tons & even though he's not perfect he makes me happy, smile, laugh, and makes me miss him like crazy when he's gone. (I don't know how I am going to do with him working 80 hours during residency)

Anyway, I don't know how I rambled about that. We were talking about Emberlynn's first step. I guess I was going that I wish I can give the same self-confidence & self-esteem that my mother gave me as a child, a teenager, because it has stuck with me as an adult. And a secret between you and me. Sometimes I feel I can hear her say, "You look beautiful" Maybe that's the other reason why I feel I don't need my husband to tell me all the time. I love you mom!
