{All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth}

We were able to sing that song this Christmas for Alix after she lost her 2nd Front tooth. 

Every time Alix looses a tooth Jon and her make a small envelope for her tooth. We laughed when she drew this picture. It's me mom pulling out the tooth and screaming with excitement. Don't you love the graphics too!

I post another picture when I find it. But she lost her 2 front teeth in the month of November. Here is the picture of the first one she lost.

{A Day Out on The Town}

You all have heard so much of my neighbors already but I can't stop talking about them. Our next door neighbors Pete & Liz have seriously found their way in our lives. I'm not sure if life here without them would be as manageable and fun without them.  Liz is constantly invited the girls to her house to play with hers so I can have some free time. They have bought wonderful nice gifts for each of my kids on their Birthdays even when I really had no party. I would try to sneak them over last minute without telling them just to join us for cake and ice-cream and they would always have a thoughtful present awaiting. They have given us homemade Italian Spaghetti Sauce (they are Italian so you can only imagine how yummy that is), cookies, treats and most importantly their friendship.  

Well after all the greatness they are nothing tops it off when Pete arrived at our front door on a Friday night TELLING not ASKING us to drop the kids off at their house at 11am-ish and have them back their pajamas and we can do whatever we want however long and they will bring them back Sunday morning after breakfast. 

YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW BIG MY EYES WERE WHEN HE SAID THIS. 

Of course knowing me my eyes immediately got really watery. I have never never never had anyone ever offer such a wonderful service to me and my husband. We were so excited. 

So here is what we did.

1.) We checked out the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts. There are so many buildings to visit, but the ones we checked out were the Metropolitan Opera House,  New York City Ballet, The Juillard School,  & the Avery Fisher Hall. 

While we were visiting Jon mentioned to check out the prices for the Nutcracker. We did and there were tickets anywhere from $250.00 to hold your breathe $15.00. We couldn't believe it. It was right after Thanksgiving I believe so we were in the non-peak season. So Jon went to the box office and bought

2.) Attended the LDS Manhattan Temple

When we arrived and was waiting for our session to start it was funny that we saw some old friends in our Monument Park 9th Ward there. We had seen them for 5 years. His parents were in town as well and they were in our Ward as well, A young woman was there that I taught and she is now finished with College and is a nurse. I couldn't believe that life really flies by that fast. We talked with them all for an hour. It was great to catch up with the Tanners.

During . . . our visit at the temple. One of the temple presidency members came up to Jon and asked him if he had kids at home. His response was "yes." His further question was who's watching them? Jon's response was our non-member neighbors" The temple worker further talked about the unknown blessings they are receiving for such a service.  Every time we go to the Temple we are always greeted by such wonderful temple workers. Another time Jon went by himself and they asked him if he had a wife and he told them yes she is home with the kids. They ended up giving him a golden pin of the Manhattan Temple to give to me. 

The temple workers there have truly been such wonderful people to us.

AFter the temple we asked another temple worker in the front some yummy eats before we headed to the ballet. He mentioned "Rosa Mexicano." He wasn't sure if we would get a seat there cause it's pretty popular and it was a weekend, but we decided to try it anyway. I'm so glad we did. When Jon met me he absolutely hated mexican food, but through years of cooking mexican food he has started to like it. This night he said it was his favorite mexican he has ever eaten. I have to say it was so delicious. They make a homemade guacamole dip right at your table that is to die for . We both orders corn tortillas tacos. Jon got mouth watering steak and I munch on the chicken, but we shared  like we always do at restaurants and the steak one they cooked it perfect. We also tried their yummy tortilla soup. It was good but wasn't used to a red sauce tortilla soup and sadly I enjoy mine or Cafe Rio Tortilla soup better. But it still was yummy and we enjoyed this night. We at up at the second floor enjoying the view of the city and the Lincoln Centre that had a huge banner for the Nutcracker. 

Here is the yummy guacamole dip I was talking about. We were sitting right by this cool water fall that had thousands of sculpture divers. The highest point the diver is standing and as you look towards the bottom you see him dive in the water. Really really neat to look at. As my family would say to me 

"I'm Artsy Fartsy"

The Ballet was so good. We both loved it. 

After the Ballet it was getting really late and so we headed home. In the morning Jon woke up and made me Breakfast in Bed. 

I will admit is was weird to have my kids sleep over at someone else's house right next door, but I guess I got over it really fast.

Shortly after Addison's Birthday Jon took the girls on a bike ride. Addison loves her new bike and now wishes the snow would go away so she can ride it again. 

The gals had to take a break and play in the leaves too!

Okay this joke comes from my hilarious husband. AFter examining this box of Organic Shells & White Cheddar Mix. I have made this box a million times it seems and never noticed until Jon pointed it out. His correct words were , "What you have to give the bunny a rectal in order to open the box?"

{Macy's Day Parade}

Yes, I'm still in November on my post.  I keep telling myself I can get do this so here it is.

{ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE DAYS EVER}

Since I have moved here I am really glad that I have not listened too much of what the locals here on Long Island has been telling me. If I have been you wouldn't have been hearing a quarter of these post. Simply cause they all stay away from the City. They thought I was a bit nuts when I told them I was heading to Macy's Day Parade. This is one event I LOVED and somehow we did it the first time RIGHT.

OUR DAY STARTED AT  . .  . . 

THE KIDS WERE TIRED BUT SO EXCITED!

We got into the City at 6:30. We didn't get a front row. I'm thinking you have to be there at 6am to get those seats anyway. I barely think didn't get it and probably could have if I knew what time they would of closed the crossroads and could of got one that way. Anyway we settled for second row which was just fine. The the people in front let the girls go up front so everything worked out great.

Here we are with our Hot Cocoa I prepared in the morning. I think I over packed things meals, breakfast & lunch. Totally didn't need lunch. I over packed on blankets and warm clothing but I really don't regret that. The only thing that could of made this day more perfect was a portable potty for the girls. I took the girls to the bathroom right before and it took me an hour or more. Everything is closed and the crowds are horrendous if you are walking around. So it's best to plop your rump down and wait it out.

The more the people the more I got excited. I knew it was about ready to start. They would have clowns on roller skates go around and get everyone psyched up. It totally worked for me. The moment I heard the music and could see the first balloon I totally started crying. I couldn't believe I was there and all my childhood memories watching the parade came back. Not in a million years I thought I would experience THE BEST PARADE EVER. And to think what I waited years to see my kids got to see while they were young. 

I have always believed that it is better to

SPEND MONEY ON 

EXPERIENCES 

NOT THINGS.

 Green Valley High School Band from Nevada was there. We laughed cause seriously what were the chances that they so happened to be playing the year we arrived in NY.

I will say it made us smile and cheer loud for them and of course made me cry again.

other boy bands I didn't know but the teenagers did.

There was a band that we had know idea who it was but some South American Band any their music was really good and even though we had no clue who they were HOLY COW the PEOPLE BEHIND US DID. Jon said he was deaf after that from a little old lady screaming from the top of her lungs! It was fun seeing and hearing everyone get excited and for that day I pretended I was their big fans too even though I had no clue who they were. It was just great being there in the moment.

AFter the Pararde we thought we were going to be in a mad house, but Jon had his thinking cap on and parked on the other side of Central Park (very smart), because the crowds were all on the other side frantically trying to get out. We seriously had NO TRAFFIC ON THE WAY BACK.


The bottom right picture of this collage was the traffic for us.  Which quickly diminished and felt like we had Central Park to ourselves. 

Look how empty Central Park was! The City felt so still.

The two littlest ones passed out finally when we got on the other side.
Passed out completely.

Alix started getting tired but we think she just wanted a ride on Jon's shoulders. Jon insisted since I was pregnant that he would carry the load. What a sweetheart!
