My Hooter Hider

I totally laugh every time I hear that name - - - and well I finally made mine.
For those who do not know what a Hooter Hider is. It's a cover you put around your neck when you are feeding your small infant or in my case a 11 month old baby : ). It has a corset boning that allows you to see what you are doing while the strap around your neck still covers everything even when baby is trying to pull it off.

Emberlynn is 11 months old & yes I am still breast feeding and will probably till 15 months like I have for the rest of my kids. The funny thing is -- is I went on a plane ride with only Emberlynn & that finally gave me enough motivation to make one. Rather then spending 30.00. I paid 7.00 for this and I got to choose my own fabric & it was lots of fun. I am planning on making each of my sisters one as well as a good friend who is having a baby in January. Hopefully giving them as gifts will motivate me more then my past motivation, but I think it turned out darling & fun to make. It only took me an hour to make.

Want to make your own?
Here is the free tutorial I used to make mine enjoy : )

ONLY THE BEST IN VEGAS

A few months ago Kristie & her wonderful family came down to visit us. We were really excited to have them to ourselves. REasons why I haven't blogged this is because I am STILL WAITING for this CD Kristie said she was going to send me of all the pictures, cause I couldn't find my rechargeable batteries. Anyway I was so sad cause they were so much fun, but I guess you will have to check out Kristie's blog if you want to see pictures.

One of the funnest things we did while they were here is Trenton (my very responsible nephew) watched my kids while the adults (Kristie, Bryce, Jon, and I) went out for the evening. We loved Phantom of the Opera. It was TOTALLY AWESOME. So even though a play is not much comparable to cirques. This rating is my most entertained shows in Vegas.

1. KA- cirque
2. PHANTOM - play
3. LA REVE - cirque
4. LOVE- cirque
5. STEVE WYRICK- magician
6. ICE- cirque

Here is Kristie & me in front of the entrance going coming out of Phantom. I have seen Phantom in Denver --- but here in Vegas it's not even comparable. It WAS AMAZING!-

A show you will not be disappointed in.

Potty Training Addison

WARNING: Only read if you want to hear a Potty Training Story-

Okay I will admit my motivation to potty train Addison is not all there-- and yes that should be exciting for me to save money on diapers & only have to change one childs diapers, but like I said not a whole lot of motivation right now.

So Addison has taken it onto herself that she is going to be potty trained with or without me - - and she is doing such AN AMAZING JOB. (Feeling a little junky as a parent) So two weeks ago after seeing her do such a wonderful job I made a chart & took her to target and if she accomplishes the chart she gets this . . .

She earned so many stickers so fast & could of got this in 5 days - - however I had to add that she would go #2 three times before she got this prize. It's been two weeks & she has only pooped twice & both times she would go in the bathroom & starting pooping in her pants until I would notice she was in there and we would quickly get her on the toilet. But I'm mean and not going to count those. I feel so bad cause Addison is doing great but not with the #2. She'll get it I know she will. So I am going to pull down her little potty out again because she would poop in there, but I think she like to pee in the big one. Oh well whatever works.

Addison loves her "Under-Roos" This morning I counted 8 pairs of under-roos on her little bum. I couldn't stop laughing as I would take off 1 or 2 at a time. She makes me laugh. Jon's sisters are coming in town next week to watch Alix & Addison so hopefully she will be all good by then. I hope? and if Amy or Kristen is reading this -- I am so sorry, but sometimes Addison will just be Addison!

A Great Reminder

Every once in a while life gets a little too crazy,
a little too hectic
and you need a little something that gets you
focussed back on what's important.

Well this clip was a wonderful reminder to get my life centered
back on what really matters in life. Life is not about how many
times the kids spilt the cheerios or the pernament black marker
on the walls, or the red crystal light blood bath in the pantry.
Life is all about sharing your love to the people who matter most
in your life.

I love these little clips that the LDS.org website puts out weekly. Here
s on wonderful reminder on what really matters in life.

Treats for Family Home Evening

Tonight is Family Home Evening and it reminded me of this a few weeks ago & I just wanted to share.

I had bought salt-water taffy for our FHE treat. Addison was in charge of the treats. (It's her favorite part). Anyway I helped her open the bag and sat back down. She then walked 10 ft in front of everyone and with handfuls started throwing the candy a foot away from our feet. We all looked at each other thinking this was really weird because she's never done this before & then it HIT ME.

Our Primary Parade Float we had the kids throw salt-water taffy out to the crowd and she was one of those kids. Obviously she wanted to relive that moment again, so if you ever give a bag of salt-water taffy to Addison BEWARE CAUSE YOU MIGHT JUST GET IT THROWN BACK AT YOU!

ALIX- The Soccer What????

THE SOCCER GIRL

On my last post my sister commented that she didn't even recognize Alix. All I have to say to Danell is DO YOU RECOGNIZE HER KNOW WITH ALL HER PINK! With 3 Girls I love pink, but I don't know if it was the whole soccer thing, but this was a bit too much pink for me. I think next time I should string grey ribbons in her hair to tone it down a bit. Anyway She still looked so darn cute out there on the field and I was smiling the whole time and of course yellowing "GO ALIX!!!!"-- And Danell you will like this-- I also yelled "GO LIPSTICKS" Alix didn't forgo all her girly ways- they are still there!

Alix is having so much fun playing this year. She is quit the trooper out there on the field. I couldn't be more proud. The girls did a great job today playing there first team. Everyone on Alix's team has been playing together for the last two years. This year makes it there 5th Season all Together. Alix is the only new girl and she is doing great. I am so proud of her. What I admire the most in Alix is how happy she is out there and working so hard and doing her very best. It was a 105 degrees outside at 1:00. Holy Smokes I thought I was going to burn up.

I love this shot I got. Pure Luck by the way! With the girls in complete unison running down the field. Alix is in the middle if you couldn't notice.

I love this face on Alix she looks so happy. This is the reason why I love having my children participate in sports to see them accomplish something while having a fun time.

I'm surprised I didn't get more of these pictures. Alix being so tired. I am still amazed how hard these girls played especially Alix.

Good Job LIPSTICKS! They did a great job. I they totally killed the other team too. I stopped counted goals after 5 in the first 5 minutes. I think it ended up being something like 21 -0.

Poor girl she seemed just fine. I kept her the stroller with some shade her her sippy cup, while I sprayed her with water every 5 minutes. I think I was a bit paranoid, but I wanted to make sure she stayed hydrated and comfortable because the heat was miserable.

Addison trying to keep herself cool in the blasting HOT WEATHER

Amy & Kristen look what you have to look forward to in a few weeks :)

I can't wait!

O CANADA - HERE WE COME!

All right I am totally disgusted that I was finally forced in getting my family passports. Since July 1st 2009, all Americans are required to have a passport to travel outside of the US. This means I can't fly to the border and drive across the border anymore with everyones birth certificates. So I had to pay around 80 bucks a pop to get everyone passports. I'm glad they last five years. They used to have it that the kids could be put on the mothers passport but they don't do that anymore, so each kid needed one. (Can you hear in my writing that I am cheap) Anyway I knew this was going to happen but of course I waited for the last minute to do it.

The kids and I were so excited to get them and to see their picture in them. Addison's passport is the best because we woke up got all the girls dolled up for their pictures. Went to Sam's to have them say their person who does them is not there until 1pm, so we went home for a few hours in the mean time Addison fell down on the tile and got a BIG GOOSE egg on her forehead that you can totally see on her passport. Watch Customs will be eyeing at me for being an abusive mother. :) :)

Oh about our Canada Trip not sure when we are going. Jon's schedule keeps changing & Alix's Track got switch. So who know's maybe I should of waited a few more months to get the passports (I'm such a dork like that I know)

TO ALL MY CANADA FAMILY
We are one step closer BABY! Hopefully we can plan something soon.

P.S. Jon's passport got rejected because the photo place did it wrong. I am so upset I want them to give us a refund for the picture and a 60.00 refund for the passport rejection.

I Want To Be a Missionary

Alix is so cute. Last week Alix found my old missionary name tag when back in the day they would give you one if you were a Ward Missionary. It was my very first calling as a married woman and I loved doing missionary work.

Anyway the moment Alix found it she had to put it on herself and wear it all day long everyday. I told her she can't be wearing it at school. Alix loves when the missionaries come over to our house for dinner. We always make the missionaries do a cool trick in front of our house with their bikes before they ride off. My girls love this and I will admit I do too.

Do you notice the ballet bar behind her. Yeah she set that one up. That's my Alix :)

I know every time Jon wants to get on his bike and show them all up but unfortunately Jon's bike is out of commission. Get this he broke his fork, yep that's how crazy he is on his bike. But the worst thing is I don't even think we have been on our bikes since we moved to Vegas. That makes me really sad.

Alix always has to wear her backpack like the missionaries & carry's around her Book of Mormon & a children's Missionary book with it. Alix always tells me. Mom I want to be a Princess Missionary and what I say to that is Alix I hope one day you will be cause you will be the best Princess Missionary EVER!

Emberlynn's IS WALKING

Here is Emberlynn showing off her skills. She is such a quick learner. She is so darling too. I took this today September first and Emberlynn is 10 months and a week.

I believe this means trouble for the both of us.

1st Time Soccer Player

Okay I am shocked just as much as you. Holy Cow check out this kick and Alix is only 5 & this was her first practice. Jon & I were laughing so hard cause she blew us away on her soccer skills. It's funny cause she kicks the ball high too.

Alix loves soccer. I first signed Alix up to be with her friend Raegan & had another friend switch teams to be with us, to find out Alix is older then both & we are all by oursleves now. But oh well. The team we are on our the LIPSTICKS. The coach is MORMON so that's fun too. Any way when the coach was telling me about the team, she had mention that this is the third year these girls have been playing together (and there only 5) she also told me that our team rocks the league (again their 5).

But let's be real I'm a DITTBRENNER and yes there is a competitive side with me. I just didn't think it would start with my daughter at age 5 :) Here is Good Luck for a FUN YEAR (because that's what's really all about right ;) ;) ha ha JK

ALIX WIN OR LOSE YOU STILL ROCK !
