{Bronx Zoo}

My neighbor here has a season pass for all the zoo's here in N.Y. She is allowed to bring a friend and up to 6 kids with her. So for the month of October she asked me to go with her to a few Zoos before her pass ran up.  Our first Zoo was one I was really wanting to go to " The Bronx Zoo." I have been really bad at taking pictures recently so my pictures don't do this Zoo justice. The Zoo is HUGE so bring your walking shoes, lunch and plenty of snacks & water to this one. We had a BLAST!

Emberlynn was amazed by this Rhino. I love her starry at this statue down below too.

HOWEVER . . . these may be my new favorite at this zoo. I loved the Grizzles. The two in the water were playing so darling. I could of watched them forever. It amazes me how friendly they look but I know it's another story if I were inside with them.

I don't remember the correct term for this but I'll call it the Tram. It took us around the outside of the zoo to see some more animals. Very funny and very relaxing considered I think we have already walked 20 miles or more. Okay I over exaggerating a bit but you get the idea. IT WAS RELAXING AND I COULD OF CARED LESS WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT.

{Addison's Preschools}

In my branch two fun girls had a Joy school going on for their kids and I was invited to join this year. There are 3 moms including myself and we switch off every week.

Another PRESCHOOL Addison is attending is at Alix's school. To my surprise our village supports a free preschool for ages 3-4 every Saturday. They are taught by the Kindergarten Teachers there at Downing Elementary.  Addison's cute Preschool teacher already called dibs on her for next year.

Here you can see the cute classroom.

Here in N.Y the school cut-off is December 1st rather then in September. This means Addison would make the cut-off by 10 days. Kindergarten here is full day too which made me sad cause I really wasn't ready to say goodbye so soon.

Addison I can't believe how big you are getting. You are such a wonderful student and any teacher is lucky to have you in their class! Now as my daddy would say to me, "Now go get them A's!"

{The Nautical Mile}

The Nautical Mile is in Freeport about 15-20 minutes from our house. This summer we headed there for an evening. We were hoping to get some fish & chips but this place was a mile of very fine dining seafood restaurants and we didn't feel like spending 17.00 on Fish & Chips. We did have fun walking the mile of shops & dinning places. 

There was even a fresh fish market that my children thought was incredible. I'm sure we will be back to get some fish or crab one day. If you look in the window there is a sign that says SPECIAL  $2.99 Lb for Blue Claw Crab. They are very small crabs but we hear they are very tasty.  They even had Live Lobsters for $10.00 each. Not bad prices!

Addison made me sit with her for over 40 minutes watching this man put a bunch of Blue Claws in a bag. I will admit it was quite entertaining. I also learned what to look for in buying your crab.

At the end of the Nautical Mile they have a small pier you can walk on and enjoy the boats going out to sea. It was very peaceful and relaxing.

{A Perfect Day}

I have decided "The Perfect Day" is being alone with your entire family on a quiet day in a beautiful place.

Our family just had one of those days.

On a Friday afternoon at 2pm I text Jon asking if any chance he is getting off early. (Never happens) and he text back saying "How about an hour. Is that early enough" I FREAKED In a good way that is. Got all the kids ready in the car and drove to his work and picked him up. I was really wanting to go to Long Beach Boardwalk to walk around anyway and was so excited Jon was coming with us. The Beach was completely vacant. It was wonderful since in the summer it's normally crowded.

My Favorite part was watching everyone even Jon go out on their own day-dreaming, relaxing, pondering, and forgetting about the world around them.

Some I noticed . . .

. . .starring at one simple seashell for over 5 minutes,

. . . while another overlooking the soothing ocean and the beauty of the sky,

. . .another one was figuring out why some waves would get her wet more then others,

. . . another seeing how much sand can tiny hands hold at once

. . .while another one sat watching her family come in harmony with nature.

The day was overcast but it didn't stop my girls from playing in the water. I might as well of brought there swimsuits cause they all got wet to their thighs.

Emberlynn loves playing on the rocks. (Even though this picture doesn't really show it) It's her favorite. However you are not suppose to play on these when there is a lifeguard around. We found that out on a few occasions during the summer.

We played and relaxed on the beach for OVER 3 HOURS and never got tired of it. We finally got hungry and decided to get something to eat.

Crab House

Jon caught a little crab and helped the girls made a crab home for it. The girls loved it. The crab is in it's home probably trying to figure out "What the CRAB IS GOING ON"
