{Chips & Strawberries}

Remember our wonderful Organic Hand-picked strawberries?

Well Mason seriously ate most of them. He kept finding the strawberries and I made the mistake of putting them on the table. Don't ask me where the bags of chips came from too. And don't ask me where are his clothes. 

I don't know the answer to any of those questions other then 

I am guilty as charge : )

{North Fork}

After visiting Greenport we couldn't just stop there we had to finish driving to the very end of the island. We were maybe 5-10 minutes away.

At the end of the Island we arrived at this road 

Now I want to do all my shopping at Lands End cause I feel so Connected : )

This was beautiful much different then the south shore. North shore has pebble beaches. I don't know the science behind it but I'm taking a guess that I learned from my father and gold panning. That the waves sift the sand and rocks causing the rocks get the back side of the waves {north shore where I'm thinking connecticut south beaches are sandy like Long Islands South shore is sandy.

The girls picked out a bunch of pink rocks to take home. They were very smooth and very pretty.

 We parked right next to the ocean the road went down and we were the only ones on this beach. It was wonderful. Mason and Emberlynn fell immediately asleep the moment we got in the car. They were completely exhausted from Greenport. We were sad they missed it. The girls got those shirts as a souvenir to remember Greenport. They are Black/White inside and when you are outside they turn color. Pretty cool. First time I had ever seen them. I'm sure they are everywhere. They are really fun for the kids. I heard that you just don't bleach them.

The picture below is so dumb, but I keep it in here to remember there was a second Lighthouse out here for future references. It's that small white dot in the distance and no it's not Montauk. 

The end of the island is field with farms and vineyards. It is so pretty to see them. Completely different  at the west side of the island.

There are many farmer markets along the way, but this one caught my eye so we stopped here to do some looking & picking.

 Of course I woke up the two little ones for this.

Mason is an animal lover right now, sounds and all.

These chickens remind us of my sisters Casandra chickens. I still can't believe she has chickens. So funny.

They had this darling playground where the kids play and the parents can go shop their Organic Market.

Of course we did some picking. This was the first time we did any picking on the Island. Very fun, but expensive, maybe because they were organic but I think it's just the island. They know it's a big tourist spot.

  We enjoyed the small ones. They had more flavor and they were more sweet.

These are my FAVORITE FLOWERS!

I remember the first time these flowers struck me I lived out West and Martha Stewart had these on her front cover of her magazine. I remember thinking I never see those flowers. Moving out East I SEE THEM EVERYWHERE, In fact our old house here had a bush of them. I love all the many colors but these blueish ones are my favorite. The same color of the the magazine cover.

So when I saw these I had to snap them. My only regret is I wish I bought some to plant in my yard. humm maybe next year.

 We were so dirty at the end of this day, but in my book that means we had so much fun. Here's another  getaway my family will always remember. What a wonderful Memorial Day.

{The Tall Ships at Greenport}

Memorial Weekend was wonderful. We had so much fun together as a family. I saw ads talking about Long Islands second time ever hosting the Tall Ships at Greenport. These ships come from all over the world and they do stops all along the east cost. I was so excited to see them and take my kids but the biggest surprise was we had no idea we were going to have this much fun there. 

Here is what our day looked like.

{Greenport is on the Northfork of Long Island. I took us a little less then an 1.5 hours to get there. Far but not too bad. We both were surprised how fast of a drive it was.}

Memorial Day was a really hot day but at least it wasn't humid thankfully. We had to wait in line for a half an hour before we got to see the ships. They were really need to be on board and see these ships.

Yay all of us in one shot!

My daughters thought I was really immodest. They are right. I really shouldn't be doing this, but I am very proud of my girls for noticing. This is the worst I get so I have to get my kicks somewhere! LOL

 Yes I posted way to many photos but I just didn't feel like weeding a lot out I figure my pictures  tell the story better then I do. 

This town was so much fun and we even found some fun souvenirs to bring home, okay I will admit we bought a lot of stuff and I wanted to buy more too : ), but I did restrain myself.  Sometimes we laugh cause when I go into an event or store I have to look at Jon and smile and say, "Okay what's my budget?" LOL Yes I can be a freak at times, but this was one of the first times I got excited about shopping in NY. I have to say I hate shopping around here only because the shops are crowded and picked over and in not very convenient getting there.

We saw this man just on the side sketching. I don't know why but it put a smile on my face probably because I can see myself doing this when I'm older.

This olive Oil Store was Awesome and yes how could I get out of this store without buying some. 

 This dog {or horse..I'm not sure what you call it} is HUGE!

 I just loved everything about Greenport. The ships were amazing and all of us had way too much fun.
